World Book Week
World Book Week
It's World Book Week! For me, the best week of the year! Who wouldn't want a whole week dedicated to books and reading? (Well, I can actually name quite a few people who don't really care about World Book Week but they're missing out!) It is the beginning of a new month full of new books and what better way to start it of by dressing up as your favourite character, looking back on classics and hearing from the great authors? It's like Christmas! World Book Week commences on 1st of March and lasts until the 5th of March. Thursday 4th March is the big day as it is the actual World Book Day.
Character Costume
On Thursday 4 March, loads of people all over the UK will be dressing up as characters and sharing their love of reading. Even though I am a huge book fan, I still don't know who to dress up as! This is the biggest decision of my life... Harry Potter characters are great and iconic but everyone dresses up as them every single year. I have never seen a year without at least one Harry Potter. Buying costumes are great and all but that shows literally no effort and just a waste of money for one costume. I want to create my costume by using my old clothes and maybe sewing a few things together. That is also a real joy of dressing up: putting your own effort and time into the costume. I've read so many books but I still can't decide which character to go as. I was thinking about maybe going as a character from one of the books I read in February? (To find out what books I read in Feb, read my first blog called February reading which will tell you what I read.) In the comments below, write down some ideas for me to choose from and I will show you who I dressed as in my next blog page.

Every year, The Week Junior have a World Book Day magazine which gives you great reads for World Book Day, a £1 World Book Day token and more. I would really advise you to go buy this week’s magazine if you haven’t already but I will be showing some insights in it anyway.
